About Jacob Cino
Jacob fell in love with yoga during a trip to India in 1996. This Gift has brought a deep awareness of breathe, body and self. The fact that Yoga has been a wonderful teacher is the inspiration for him to share this practice with others. The First deepening of his practice started in the Sivananda Ashram in Southern India. The initial introduction to yoga was in this form of Asana practice but led to the exploration of many other forms of Yoga.
This continuing exploration has helped to celebrating their difference and commonality of achieving peace and equanimity with our bodies and environment. With training in a spectrum ranging from Yin and Restorative to Ashtanga Vinyasa, Power Yoga to Zen meditation, Jacob has a well rounded experiential knowledge of yoga and its application to our physical form.
After many years of practice he certified as a teach in 2006 . His Classes are physically challenging but at the same time safe and fun.

If there is joy in your practice then you will continue your practice. This is why this class was created. A mixture of a flow yoga practice, a bit of dance and hip movement and plenty of good roots reggae music results in a good stretch, a good sweat and the celebration of the joy of life. This class will open your heart and your hips.

Yin Flow
Thurs, May 22nd @ 6-8 PM | Yin Flow | 40 BBD (workshop class)
Yin Flow is a class that starts with a strong flow / Vinyasa practice that will warm the muscles and challenge the student physically. After the muscles are nice and warm we will move into a slower moving restorative practice . Here we will be using props like bolsters and blocks and hold relaxing non-physically demeaning postures for 3-5 minutes. This will allow us to go deep into the stretch. Like metal once heated is much more malleable so to will you be able to get a deeper stretch in this way. A mix of Yin and Yang to help achieve balance.

Here is what past participants said about their experience previous workshop in Trinidad.
"This workshop really opened my mind to movement and feeling/ being free to expression. It is relaxing and teaches you without you realizing to lighten your body weight for someone to lift you. In doing this, abstract movement is created and I think that is the most beautiful thing."
"It was a (life) changing experience for me; not only in the area of dance and 'contact' but also spiritually and mentally."

Contact Improvisation is a partner dance form based on the physical principles of touch, momentum, shared weight, and most quintessentially – following a shared point of contact. The form was founded in 1972 by Steve Paxton. Integrating his background as a modern dancer and his studies in the martial art form Aikido, Steve developed Contact Improv through explorations with his students and colleagues at the time. This dance practice explores the skills of falling, rolling, counterbalance, lifting using minimal effort, how to make ourselves light when being lifted, centering and breathing techniques, and responsiveness to our partners and surroundings.
Contact Improvisation is an honoring of every moment. There is a sweet surrendering that happens when our bodies stay faithful to what is happening now, and now… and NOW! One learns to recognize and differentiate subtle impulses in our movement choices and our partner's choices. We begin to decipher the cues that we give and receive which tell us when to lead or follow, when to go up, when to go down, where to touch, how to lift, when to slow down, and when to be still. In this form one learns to stay in integrity with each choice, never forcing, never rushing. When Body, Mind, and Spirit are united in their instinctive wisdom one finds ones-self at home in every moment expressing ones true nature.
