Class Description 

Power Vinyasa : An energetic Ashtanga-based class, synchronizing breath with movement. Expect to move, play and sweat. Open to all levels.



I started with yoga at the age of 14 when injuries prevented me from carrying on running around and playing sports like a 14 year old should. 
Having come to yoga from a place of healing, I am still constantly inspired by the transformations that practice brings to the hearts, minds and bodies of those who come to the mat. 
My interest in the physiology of the human body took me through to complete a B.Sc. with a Major in Anatomy and Cell biology at Mcgill University in Montreal. I went on to study Ashtanga and Hatha yoga in Goa, India. While recently teaching and practicing in Vancouver, I fell in love with Yin Yoga and completed my certification there. This varied educational background and practicing with teachers of both Ashtanga and Anusara lineages has led me to a multidisciplinary approach that plays off of sound anatomical alignment. 
I believe that we all have the power to heal and grow ourselves in many ways. Yoga helps us to learn to heed our intuition and to find our perfect balance between softness and strength, between our yin and our yang. Through a balanced practice, we empower ourselves to achieve things we never imagined possible, on and off the mat. We empower ourselves to be our own teachers, to be a light unto ourselves.
